Parents are the first teachers of faith. The parish of IHM wishes to support their efforts and does so through the Children’s Religious Education programs. This includes three programs offered on Sundays for pre-schoolers (4 year-olds) through students in 8th grade.
To support parents in their task of guiding children along their faith journeys, a monthly parent session will be held after 9:30 Mass during class time. This gathering will be used to disseminate information about the Sunday Family Faith program as well as offer suggestions for living Catholic faith at home.
Catechist/Assistant Catechists Needed
Many catechists are needed to support the three SFF programs offered. Please consider joining this dedicated group of women and men in service to IHM’s children. Assistants are needed in both the classrooms as well as supporting administration tasks. Catechists are needed to lead the children’s formation experience in the classroom.
“And this is the job of a catechist: constantly to go forth to others out of love to bear witness and talk about Jesus, to proclaim Jesus. This is important because the Lord does it; it is the Lord that impels us to go forth.” – Pope Francis
