About Our Parish

The Immaculate Heart of Mary parish strives to be a vibrant Catholic community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ as our guide. We invite those who seek to strengthen their spirituality and develop their relationships with God through our dynamic liturgy, life long learning, and sharing faith within and outside our community.

Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish is located on the north side of Indianapolis, Indiana, at 5692 N. Central Avenue. The parish is one of nine parishes that make up the North Deanery of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. The parish is in the heart of the Meridian Kessler neighborhood, close to the popular areas of Broad Ripple and Butler University. Since our parish began in 1946 with 342 families, we have grown to over 800 families. Over 400 students attend our parish school in grades K-8, and over 80 kids are enrolled in our Sunday Faith Formation program.

Our parish offers many opportunities for each parishioner to become involved within the parish itself, as well as in our many outreach ministries. Our parish ministries include the areas of endowment, spirituality, arts and environment, knitting ministry, good sam committee, new blessings, church cleaning and many, many more. Outreach ministries include involvement with the St. Thomas food pantry, helping with students at St. Anthony’s school, the Respect Life ministry, Pax Christi and many others.

Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish provides many wonderful opportunities for spiritual growth, including retreat programs, daily communion services, opportunities to attend daily mass, and individual reconciliation opportunities as well as community penance services. We are a vibrant Catholic parish, tending to the spiritual needs of those who pass through the church doors, as well as serving many in our own community as well as others across the world!
