Advent Giving Tree

November 28, 2017 Outreach Ministries

Parishioners celebrate the true meaning of Christmas by sharing gifts with families in our community who are less fortunate. This year we will have the opportunity to help the students at St. Anthony School, new moms from Birthline, and make donations to the Boulevard food pantry. Participation in this Outreach is sponsored by the MOMS group and can be as simple as removing one or more of the 700 gift tags from the giving tree, purchasing the gift and returning it to the church no later than December 17th.  If you prefer to donate monetarily to the Advent giving tree ministry please see contact information below.
For any questions please contact- Jennifer kaplan #317-443-3295 or Jennifer Gause #317-407-7839

Current Outreach Needs

January 20, 2017 Outreach Ministries

The Annual Birthline Collection of new and gently used baby items is sponsored by the IHM Respect Life Committee in remembrance of the 44th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade, January 22, 2017. There is a special need this year for receiving blankets because a volunteer who has made hundreds for Birthline has not been able, due to illness.
They are always in need of new and gently used baby clothes including sleepers, onesies, socks, warm jackets, all children’s clothing (up to 2T), maternity clothing, baby toys and board books.  They can also use donations of baby wipes, baby wash and diapers.  Please place any of these items including all gently used baby items in boxes at the church entrances from January 14-30.
Contact Mary Dougherty, Respect Life Committee Chairperson for more information or for pick-up anytime of the year of clothing or large baby items. (Birthline cannot accept used cribs).  [email protected] or 317-790- 6060.

The St. Vincent de Paul Indianapolis Conference urgently needs donations and volunteers for the Mission 27 Resale Store, the Distribution Center and the 30th Street Food Pantry.

For details you can contact: Darlene Sweeney, Volunteer Coordinator 317-924-5769 x 238 [email protected] or Larry Dougherty at [email protected].

SVDP Donations Needed

November 24, 2015 Outreach Ministries

Help St. Vincent DePaul Help the Poor.

St. Vincent DePaul experiences growing demand. St. Vincent DePaul is providing twenty local Catholic Parishes with new donation bins to provide clothes and shoes to the poor and homeless. These bins will be placed on parish property and will be periodically serviced by your parish’s SVdP Conference members. The bins will become semi-permanent structures at the Parish as the demand for clothes and shoes keeps growing.

St. Vincent DePaul is expanding its clothing donation center in order to keep up with the demand. All types and seasons of clothing and shoes are needed now. Please consider donations of clothing (new and gently used) and bring them to the bin in the IHM parking lot by the Gathering Space.

The Advent Giving Tree is up in church and tags are ready to be selected.  With the shorter time between Thanksgiving and Christmas – the tags with the gifts for the students at Padua Academy must be returned by December 14th.  This deadline is crucial as gifts need to be delivered before students are released for winter break.  There are many ministries benefiting from this year’s tree:  Birthline, Boulevard Food Pantry and Padua Academy and we thank you for your generosity!

Please do not hesitate to contact Jennifer Gause  [email protected] or Jen Kaplan  [email protected] for any questions or concerns.
