Annual 8th Grade Spaghetti Dinner
Sunday, March 15th, 5:30pm – 7:30pm
IHM Activity Center
After much consideration the 2020 Spaghetti dinner chairs have made the difficult decision to cancel this 8th grade service project scheduled for this Sunday, March 15, 2020. This event typically has over 300-400 parishioners and families of all ages and we were concerned that turn out may be dramatically reduced due to COVID-19. We wanted to ensure the food donations we have received already were not wasted and we will donate them to local food pantries. The committee chairs really appreciate all the hard work and effort already put in from IHM staff, several IHM families, our generous sponsors, and the 8th grade class.
We still need your help!!!!! 100% of the benefits and proceeds go to the Lord’s Pantry at Anna’s House which serves families who need food in the downtown area. The IHM spaghetti dinner has been a significant contributor to Anna’s house for almost two decades. Last year, the IHM 8th grade contributed $3250 in a cash donation to Anna’s house (which is about half of their monthly budget). To date, we have collected about $1100 dollars from cash donations and fees. In this unprecedented time and if you have the means, we would like to close the gap for Anna’s House anticipated funding. A donation of $10-$20 dollars per family (the average cost of spaghetti dinner tickets for families) would make a big difference in helping.
By Friday, March 20th- we wanted to offer two options in a way to donate to make it as easy as possible
1) Donate directly to Anna’s House (and designate IHM Spaghetti dinner in box individual being honored and gift to Wherever Needed Most).
2) Donate by sending a Venmo contribution to @KaraClinton or send in a check or cash to the school office made to IHM 8th Grade.
We will share the final total in an upcoming newsletter. Although disappointed, we are incredibly grateful for the IHM community.
