There are several Respect Life opportunities to share and pray during the month of October:
• The IHM Respect Life Committee invites you to join them to pray the rosary every Wednesday in October at 6 PM before the shrine to Our Lady of Fatima at the corner 57th and Washington Street.
• Respect Life Sunday – October 6
The Respect Life Sunday Annual Celebration Mass will be on October 6 at 10:30 AM at Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral. Two Respect Life awards are presented annually at this Mass. IHM parishioner Sally Jones, daughter of Jane and Mike Jones will be one of two North Central High School seniors receiving the Our Lady of Guadalupe Pro-Life Youth Award. She and Meggie McPherson of St. Pius parish are being recognized for their great efforts in fighting the culture of death and promoting a culture of life. They were chosen for their leadership in promoting the dignity of all human life as co-presidents of North Central Teens for Life and by example and service in their home and community.
• Central Indiana Life Chain is an inter-denominational, one-hour prayer vigil to end abortion and promote Respect for Life at all stages. All are invited to stand in prayer along North Meridian Street from Michigan to 15th and 30th to 38th Streets on Sunday, October 6, between 2:30 PM and 3:30 PM. IHM has been invited to stand and pray from the west side of Meridian from 9th to 10th Street. (Note: new location this year). Come stand, pray and bear silent witness to the dignity of All Life from conception until natural death.
• The Respect Life Committee invites you to join with them in 40 Days for Life from September 25 through November 3 This is world-wide peaceful, prayerful pro-life campaign to protect mothers and babies. Join in 40 Days of fervent prayer and fasting for an end to abortion by peacefully praying in front of Planned Parenthood, 8590 Georgetown Road, Indianapolis, the busiest abortion center in Indiana. Join IHM members for an hour of prayer on Tuesdays between 2:00 – 4:00pm at the vigil site or pray any other day or time between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm.
