My name is Amy Schaffer and it is my pleasure to serve as the Chair for the IHM School Commission for the 2010-2011 school year. The School Commission is a consultative body which works in collaboration with our principal, Peggy Elson, Fr. Bob, and the Pastoral Council to provide the most successful learning environment possible for our students, including Catholic identity, spiritual growth and academic excellence.
As members of the School Commission, we are here to serve the community at large as liaisons between the families and the school. Please feel free to contact any member of the School Commission to answer questions, listen to concerns or receive feedback as it pertains to the success of our school. We value your input as members of the IHM community and strive to provide as much guidance and support as possible.
I invite you to review the minutes from our monthly meetings to see the work that we are doing to help our school continue on its path of success.Thank you for your support of our school this year!
Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, as all parishes in the Archdiocese, is administered in accordance with the principle of “shared responsibility.” Thus, both the Pastor and pastoral staff and the members of IHM Parish are responsible for implementing the Parish’s mission.

Procedures for Communication
If a situation arises with a student, which, in the parents’ judgment, requires immediate attention, parents first need to contact the student’s teacher at school. The teacher will then contact the parents within three school days. In the event that this first procedure does not remedy the situation, then a direct call by the parent should be made to the School Administrator. The School Administrator shall reply to the parent within five school days and make a reasonable effort to resolve the situation. If a parent has followed the first two steps of the communication process without a satisfactory remedy to the situation, parents may request a meeting with the pastor.
If the meeting request is granted by the Pastor, the Pastor shall meet with the parents in an attempt to facilitate a Christian resolution to the dispute. The School Administrator may be present if he or she deems necessary or as otherwise requested by the Pastor.
