Assist with distribution of quarterly reading incentives. Help chairmen 3-4 times a year for approximately one hour. |
| After School Enrichment |
Mad Science, Gymnastics, Crafts…fun opportunities for your child to learn after school. Volunteers can help recruit classes and organize sessions which are held in the fall and winter. |
| Art Fair |
Assist art teacher in setting up for the Spring Art Fair held in May close to the end of the school year. |
| Book Fair |
Sale of Scholastic books for five days in March; assist children with their shopping; assist with set-up and clean-up. |
| Christmas Concert |
Light breakfast and a selection of Christmas songs from each grade; assist with set-up/decorating and clean-up in mid December. |
| Classroom Needs |
Teachers are provided a certain amount of money each year to make purchases for classroom needs. Help facilitate in ordering equipment, processing receipts, etc. 1-2 hours a month. |
| Room Parent |
Coordinate drivers for field trips, arrange class parties and assist with teacher requests. Maximum of two per class needed. This job is one of organization, communication and e-mails. Teachers may make various requests throughout school year. |
| Clean Plate Club |
Eco-friendly reusable plates are used on hot lunch days (usually Fridays). Volunteers are needed to wash plates in our high speed dishwasher. 1 volunteer is needed for 1 hour on each hot lunch day. |
| Cultural Enrichment |
The committee organizes guests to enhance IHM's classroom experiences by arranging cultural, scientific, and entertaining activities. |
| Enrollment |
Assist as needed with the online Final Enrollment system. Database & excel expertise would be helpful. |
| Everybody Counts |
A week in February dedicated to teaching the children about different disabilities; assist in your child’s class for 1-2 hours. |
| Field Day |
A day of games and activities for each IHM family-group; assist with games, food preparation, etc. Held in mid-late May. |
| First Communion Help |
Assist the 2nd grade teachers and Stacy Hennessy as needed. |
| Gift Wrap Fundraiser |
The sale of gift wrap and candy is IHM's major fund-raiser. Assist with tallying your child’s class total or with distribution. Tallying work occurs in September - October and distribution in November.* |
| Honey-Baked Ham |
Assist with the sale of Honeybaked Ham products for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. |
| Hospitality |
Provide refreshments for various school activities; assist with hosting of events including Back-to-school night, new family Meet & Greet, Catholic Schools week, Donuts for Dads, Muffins for Moms and other events. |
| Library |
Help our librarian with various duties such as shelving books, printing birthday book nameplates, assisting with classes and setting up Accelerated Reader folders on an as needed basis throughout the school year. |
| Lunch Program (Friday) |
An optional hot lunch program is offered nearly every Friday from August through May. Volunteers assist with distribution of lunches and drinks and are scheduled for a 2-2 1/2 hour shift every other month. |
| Lunch/ Recess Duty |
Parent volunteers assist in the lunchroom or outside for recess (grades 1-6) to relieve one teacher from supervision at each lunch period. A separate volunteer form must be completed to provide your volunteer preferences. |
| Market Day |
Sale of frozen food products each month; volunteers assist with distribution of food one Monday each month, checking orders at sale and placing reminder calls the weekend before the sale.* |
| Newcomer Support |
Participate in the committee to welcome & provide support to families new to IHM; call new families, solicit questions, document “Frequently Asked Questions” information, plan get-togethers, maintain contact throughout the school year about upcoming events. |
| Safe Routes to School |
IHM and CFI are coordinating efforts to enhance our schools through grant proceeds. Assist with grant writing and utilization. |
| SCRIP Fundraiser |
The sale of gift cards for which IHM receives a percentage of each sale. Volunteers are needed for school and church sales, pick-up and distribution of cards, and marketing. |
| Sportswear |
Assist with the sale and distribution of IHM sportswear. Need volunteers to work the Back to School Night in August. Distribution will take place in October. October time commitment is 4-6 hours. |
| Teacher Appreciation |
Monthly committees provide “treats” for our staff; 4-5 person committees coordinate special meals for staff once per week for a one month commitment.* |
| Trash Bag Sales |
Assist with the sale of trash bags in October and May. Help with distribution of flyers, collect forms & payment, and work at distribution days. |
| Wellness Committee |
Be a part of the Archdiocese mandated Wellness Program to help educate our students through mind, body and spirit. Wellness Fair, Wellness Newsletter, monthly meetings, commitment is 1-2 hours a month. |
