Enrollment Policy

Our goal is to provide Catholic Education to all parishioner children. However, recognizing that the parish has limited facilities and resources, enrollment priority shall be determined as follows.

1. Currently enrolled students in Immaculate Heart of Mary School shall be given the highest priority.

2. The order of admission for all new applicants will be determined on a point system using the following criteria in order of importance.

  • Parishioner sibling of a child currently attending, or who has graduated from Immaculate Heart of Mary School
  • Length of time as a parishioner
  • Participation in Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish and School Life
  • Pledge card on file
  • Regular tithing and other contributions to Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish
  • Legacy of Immaculate Heart of Mary. Legacy is defined as: Parents who went to school at IHM and are presently a parishioner. Legacy does not apply to persons who are no longer members of IHM
  • On waiting list from previous year (2 year maximum)
  • Child of a full time staff member at Immaculate Heart of Mary School or Parish

3. A non-parishioner may be allowed to enroll a child at Immaculate Heart of Mary School provided:

  • The classroom enrollment for the applicable grade is below the established level, subject to any priority accorded parishioners regarding enrollment.
  • A sibling of a non-parishioner child enrolled on or after December 8, 2000 may only be admitted in the school provided that the classroom enrollment for the applicable grade is below the established level, and subject to any priority accorded parishioners regarding enrollment.
  • Any non-parishioner family and their siblings enrolled prior to the adoptions of this policy will have priority over parishioner children entering school for the first time.
