Welcome
I am so happy to welcome you to the new Resource Room website. Our resource room is located on the 3rd and 4th grade floor. I would love for you to stop by and see us in action. I have at least 20 students in and out of my room daily, studying for tests, taking tests, reading assignments etc. Anytime students drop in and ask for help--- we help them. It is a fun place to be and lots of learning is taking place here.

IHM's Resource Program |
Our Resource program serves many, many children in our school. Most children have individual educational plans, but we also help any child who asks for extra help in specific subjects. We work to make sure that children are being taught in the way that works the best for them. Tests can be read aloud to students. We also try to provide textbooks on CD for students who would benefit from listening to the text.

Helpful Hints |
Probably the one piece of advice that I always give to parents of children who don't enjoy reading is to always have a good book on CD or tape. Many students enjoy listening to a book on tape before bedtime. But another easy way to complete a book is to keep it in the car and listen as students travel from school to soccer to cotillion to the grocery to Grandma's house etc. We all are in the car alot and this is a great use of this time. In this way, you can even discuss and review the book in a fun and relaxed way. Listening skills greatly improve as well as vocabulary skills.
Many teacher's have included links to textbook sites. Most of these sites have fun, quick games that are a good way to review for tests together with your child.
